Symposium in Honour of Professor Milada Franková

The Department of English & American Studies at Masaryk University is pleased to announce a symposium in honour of Professor Milada Franková, whose distinguished career as a scholar, teacher, mentor, and colleague has left an enduring mark on English literary studies in the Czech Republic and beyond.

The symposium celebrates Professor Franková’s scholarly contributions and her long-standing engagement with fields including British women’s writing, feminist literary criticism, comparative literature, and related areas of literary and cultural studies. Bringing together colleagues, former students, collaborators, and friends, the event will provide an opportunity to reflect upon the intellectual questions that have shaped her work and to acknowledge her influence on generations of students and scholars.

The programme will feature presentations by invited participants from institutions across the Czech Republic and abroad.
