Brno’s English Speaking Theatre

BEST divadlo, Brno’s English Speaking Theatre is very excited to be celebrating its second season with 5 full-length plays, its monthly reading series, educational program AND IT’S FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY!

This coming weekend, we will be offering a menu of SIX events to celebrate all this in our first Anniversary Festival. The centerpiece will be “3-Plays-in-3-Days.” So, if you have missed “A Walk in the Woods” (Saturday 2/3) “Love Letters” (Sunday 3/3) or our most recent show “Wenceslas Square” (Monday 4/3) this would be a great time to catch up. We are extending half-price tickets to all faculty and students and, if you attend more than one play, your second ticket is free. Just use the code “BirthdayMU” when you make your reservation at bestdivadlo@gmail.com. All three share a curtain time of 19:30 and, who knows? You might even catch me performing in one of them.

In fact, we will be doing our monthly play readings right here at Masaryk, Gorkeho 7, Rm 316, this Friday night (1/3) at 18:00 to kick off the festival. That one’s absolutely free, so come join us and enjoy two hilarious comedies – Christopher Durang’s “The Actor’s Nightmare” and Czech-born Tom Stoppard’s “The Real Inspector Hound.” We also are holding a free workshop on Saturday afternoon 2/3 (registration required; SEE our Facebook page) and a BIRTHDAY PARTY before the Sunday evening performance, where we’ll announce our slate of plays for NEXT season. All three shows will be performed at Kabinet Muz, Sukova 4.

MU has been one of our most faithful supporters in so many ways. We see this as an opportunity to celebrate with you and to express our thanks. We hope we’ll see many of you there.
